The new 5-megapixel DMC-TZ1 incorporates the powerful 10x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens (F2.8) into a 112 × 58.1 × 40.2 mm compact body. The Extra Optical Zoom (EX) function can extend the zoom ratio up to 12.5x in 3-megapixel resolution. Like other models in the LUMIX series, the TZ1, of course, features MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), which is becoming a standard feature for all digital cameras in the market.
