Being an SLR-like camera, this camera comes chock full of features to make your shooting experience as in-depth as possible. The most notable of these features is the 9 megapixel CCD. That puts this camera's sensor a step above most entry level DSLR cameras, which provide 8 megapixels.
To go along with the 9MP CCD, the S9000 sports a massive 10.7x optical zoom lens which will focus in as close as 0.4 inches. This allows you to take an immensely diverse range of photos with both macro shots, as well as for far off objects. In order to control the zoom, Fuji opted for a ring on the lens barrel to simulate the SLR feel as well as to allow for fine tuning of both the focus and zoom of the lens.
