PiTech's I-10: 3 megapixel Palmphone
Dear Treo, why must
competitors constantly step up to dethrone you? Coming at you from the left is
Nokia’s 9500 Communicator, on your right is the
PPC-6700, and just over the horizon are the
Motorola Q, the
E61 “Nokiaberry,? and now an impressive new entrant
from PiTech, the Garnet-powered I-10. Up to this point, the only time we’d heard of PiTech (Portable Innovation
Technology Limited) was through their Qool
QDA-700-esque reference design (pictured), but the
I-10 promises to be a real product that may bring some genuine innovations, not the least of which is the built-in
three megapixel camera. The cam also features auto focus and anti-shake compensation, and can capture video in
MPEG-4, with playback possible through a 2.2-inch screen. No more details are available at this point, and until we
hear some processor and memory specs, and especially some words like “WiFi,? “Bluetooth,? and “EVDO,? we’re gonna
wait to pass judgment on this one.
From the Qool people. Sounds good, but we'll reserve judgment until they actually release something.
